The term ‘North America’ describes the entire continent, which includes the two most northern countries, Canada and the United States. North America refers to the portion of our world that lies between the Arctic and the tropics and that includes the two main islands in the area. Although the northern portion of North America, which includes the United States and Canada, is technically part of Asia, the people who live here are considered North Americans. North America can be defined as a continent completely within the northern hemisphere and around the equator. It is also considered a north-eastern sub continent of the continent Americas.
North America has one of the largest continents with the exception of Antarctica. This large continent has a temperate climate which is characterized by a large area of arctic tundra and areas of high desert. The majority of the continent lies north of the Arctic Circle but there are still parts of the continent that are found near the Arctic and north of South America. The majority of the land mass in North America is covered by ice and snow. However, large areas of open land are found here as well. North American is also known as an arid region and is home to more than twenty million people who live on this continent.
As the climate in North America varies greatly from place to place, the people’s lives are influenced by it. With a large population, a great deal of agriculture has been developed in this continent. The soil in North America is very rich and is perfect for agriculture. Because of this, the North American countryside has many farms and cities. North America has many lakes and rivers that help the country sustain an economy of its own.
